چکیده

Non-flammable characteristic of dry-type castresin transformers make them suitable for residential and hospital usages. However, because of resin’s property, thermal behavior of these transformers is undesirable, so it is important to analyze their thermal behavior. Temperature distribution of cast-resin transformers is mathematically modeled in this paper. The solution of the model was carried out successfully by finite difference method. In order to validate the model, the simulation results were compared with the experimental data measured from an 800 kVA transformer. Finally, the influences of some construction parameters and environmental conditions on temperature distribution of cast-resin transformers were discussed.

Weight Comparison of Oil and Dry Type Distribution Transformers

Abstract—Reducing the weight of transformers while providing good performance, cost reduction and increased efficiency is important. Weight is one of the most significant factors in all electrical machines, and as such, many transformer design parameters are related to weight calculations. This study presents a comparison of the weight of oil type transformers and dry type transformer weight. O...

Estimation of Temperature Rise in MVA Range Dry - Type Transformers and Practical Verification Based on Simulated Loading

Dry-type transformer becomes the preferable choice in many applications due to its construction specific advantages over oil-cooled transformers. However, the inherent low thermal conductivity of dry-type transformers gives the rise to high operating temperatures. The temperature rise of a transformer is an important factor deciding its safe operation and the useful life span. With the increase...
